Terms of Service
Effective Date: January 1, 2025
1. Description of the Service
TripTrace is a travel history reconstruction tool that helps users compile a record of their international travel. The service connects to your financial accounts through Plaid to retrieve transaction data, which is analyzed to identify travel-related purchases and reconstruct an approximate timeline of your trips. The resulting travel history is intended as a personal reference tool to assist you in recalling travel dates and destinations. TripTrace does not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of the travel history it generates. You are solely responsible for verifying any information before relying on it.
2. Important Disclaimers
TripTrace is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. The service is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified immigration attorney. TripTrace is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected with USCIS, CBP, DHS, or any government agency. The travel history generated should not be treated as an official or legally binding record. If you intend to use information from the service in connection with any government application or legal proceeding, you do so at your own risk and should independently verify all information.
3. User Responsibilities
You must be at least 18 years old to use the service. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account. When connecting financial accounts, you represent that you are the authorized account holder. You must not use the service for any unlawful purpose or to access accounts belonging to others without authorization. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
4. Payment and Refund Policy
Certain features require payment. All fees are stated at the time of purchase in US dollars. We offer a satisfaction guarantee — if you are not satisfied with the service, contact us at [email protected] to discuss a refund. Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
5. Intellectual Property
The service, including all content, features, and underlying software, is owned by TripTrace and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the service.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TripTrace shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the service, errors in the travel history generated, or any unauthorized access to your information. The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to TripTrace in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
7. Account Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms.
8. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by the laws of the state in which TripTrace maintains its principal place of business, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the effective date. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
